MINI Brand Debuts Hybrid Test Vehicle

November 6th, 2016 by

The MINI brand is always expanding its vehicle lineup to offer more great choices for MINI drivers. Recently, the company announced that they’re hard at work on a plug-in hybrid vehicle. The new model will offer three driving modes: Auto eDrive, Max eDrive, and Save Battery, which shuts the electric motor off, relying only on the power of the gas engine to retain and even recharge the battery. The MINI brand’s new plug-in hybrid will retain the classic MINI brand look and feel, both inside and out, with key differences to set it apart. For example, the start/stop button will glow yellow, as opposed to the standard red, and the RPM counter in the instrument panel will be replaced with a power display to let you know how much battery power you’ve got left.

While you eagerly await this latest MINI offering, you can find great MINI vehicles for sale here at Bill Jacobs MINI, like the 2017 MINI Cooper Hardtop 2 Door. Thanks to a wide stance with a tightly-tuned suspension, this car delivers impeccable handling. Like the upcoming plug-in hybrid, the MINI Cooper Hardtop 2 Door features three driving modes. Sport Mode puts a little extra pep in your step, with automatic adjustments to the engine, steering, and transmission settings that deliver a stiffer, sportier drive. Green Mode delivers softer steering and more efficient performance by optimizing fuel delivery, tweaking shift points, and disengaging automatic transmission when you take your foot off the gas. But what do you do if you’re looking for a nice balance between optimum performance and maximum efficiency? Simple: you switch into Mid mode.
